Video about Colora Orchards

A Brief Look at Our Operations:

Colora Orchards is a family owned and operated farm growing fresh market apples and peaches.  We grow 100 acres of apples and 100 acres of peaches on a 500 acre farm.  The homestead of this farm was started in 1843 by the Balderston family and the current operators are 4th and 5th generation Balderston family members.

Since the Balderston family began the farm, the main industry was dairy.  However, a small orchard was planted by the second generation around 1910.  In 1973, Stephen Balderston (5th generation) reengineered the farm from a full-time dairy and seasonal orchard operation into a full-time orchard.

We are a major wholesale operation selling the majority of our product to supermarkets and institutional customers as well as to a small share of foreign export buyers.  We also do direct marketing on the farm.

As a farm that strives to provide the best possible product to both wholesale and retail customers, we pick our fruit at optimal maturity to ensure long lasting freshness and the highest quality flavor.
