Current legislative issues that could greatly affect the apple industry include the following:

• Supporting the Emergency Agriculture Relief Act which ensures that temporary immigration status will be granted during the next 5 years to experienced farm employees and sustain agriculture in America.
• Support of the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits and Security Act which will transform the H-2A guest worker program into a more accessible, streamlined process for easier access to skilled labor necessary to apple growers.

The American Farm Bureau Federation is another national organization that provides services to agriculture operations. Utilizing grassroots efforts, the American Farm Bureau strives to improve agricultural communities throughout the country.
