The Maryland Farm Bureau is a subsidiary of the American Farm Bureau Federation (see the industry page). Each state has a Farm Bureau organization. Maryland Farm Bureau's goal is "to promote and protect Maryland agriculture and rural life" (Maryland Farm Bureau). The organization is a membership based, non-profit group that is financed by membership contribution and voluntary membership dues. The organization forms committees such as Young Farmers and the Political Action Committee to tackle specific topics relevant to the committee members. Colora Orchards is located in Cecil County, Maryland and thus is a member of the Cecil County Farm Bureau.

Another local organization the provides services and resources to farmers in Cecil County is the Cecil County branch of the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension. This group has programs and resources geared toward agriculture production, environmental quality, farm management, marketing and water quality.

The Farm Service Agency is part of the United States Department of Agriculture. Maryland has its own Farm Service Agency (FSA) branch as well as a location in each county. This agency manages and provides "farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs as laid out by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices" (FSA MD).

The Natural Resources Conservation Service is another Department of Agriculture agency that helps private land owners (many of which are farmers) conserve soil, water and other natural resources. Cecil County's division of this service provides resources and services that help farmers reduce negative impact on soil and water resources as well as to reduce use of environmentally-harmful products or equipment.
